• According to the most current herpes statistics, 25% (actual 24.63%) of the sexually active population in the United States has genital herpes.

• Between 20% and 25% of all pregnant women are infected with genital herpes.

• Less than 0.01% of pregnant women who have genital herpes will have any complications during  pregnancy because of their infection with the herpes virus.

• Up to one-half of all babies born vaginally during the time the mother has open sores will develop herpes.
